My name is Larry Slade and I am the director of Richard McKenna Charter High School located in Mountain Home, Idaho.
RMCHS is a "Brick n' Click" charter high school created in 2002. Our program has 275 students online throughout Idaho, and 50 students onsite in Mountain Home . We plan to expand our program to K-12 using a blended learning model: K-8 will meet T Th onsite and work online M W F. High school students will meet M W F onsite and work online T Th. Very exciting stuff!
I am taking this course for the sheer fun of it. I enjoy multimedia production and know how powerful this medium is and how effective it can be when used properly. In fact, I earned my M.Ed. from BSU back in-the-day (1989) and was actually part of the original cohort of what was then called "Performance Improvement Technology". (Just to show my age: my wife and I have eight children [5 daughtes and 3 sons], all married, happy, and successful, and 18 grandchildren. . . and counting!)
I am excited to learn from each of you and to see what is happening with online learning and multimedia production throughout the United States and the world!
